Linky

This game should be interesting... for those waiting for Mechwarrior 5 :D

*EDIT* What do you guys think... saw a couple of screenshots (as youtube is blocked at work now :( ), and it looks great. The mod is a bit big though, weighs at about 1GB

I'm not putting any hopes on this, even if it is cool.
I was a Mechwarrior fan back in the 90's. Better games have come to take my interest since then. Coming back with better graphics or whatever just feels like SC2... (SSDG) Same Sh!t, Different Graphics

One bonus is, someone made a initiative roll and scored a 20, and made a mod for the people waiting for a better and new Mechwarrior :D

Dude, would you rather have had a SC2 with TOTALLY new units a TOTALLY new story and TOTALLY new abilities and a TOTALLY new feel? I would not, I loved SC for what it was in the past. Blizzard didn't release SC2 with the idea of making a 'new' game, its a sequel to SC1, just like Brood Wars was.
Blizzard is sticking with what works and what people like, and I'm glad they are, I would most definitely not want to see the Background story of SC get changed, and every unit is part of it.

Its really strange to me that almost everybody says "augh SC2, the same old crap", yet SC2 is still one of the most anticipated games of today, popular too, actually.

Also true and I do agree. But I'm not asking to reinvent the wheel. Just MORE awesomeness than the previous one. That's what a sequel is suppose to bring you. Not JUST the next venture in the story with minor new stuff to play with. I'm sure in 10 years they could have thought up some more kick ass stuff than what they had in the first. Not to replace the existing, but to add with the existing. And if these few new stuff they brought in are the only things they could think of, that disappoints me. :(

There's one thing that Blizzard did that I do hate though. Announcing a game so far from finished, and because we're so glad, and because they're so good at making such a big deal about it, we start to expect so much, and then as we are nearing the finish line we don't see those expectations. We see the same stuff that looks better...
I'm glad the story goes on and there are a few new units etc, but too much hype kills a game imo.

I can't wait for Diablo 3, and what I've seen is better than what I was hoping for, for SC2. But after checking out the SC2 beta, my hopes for D3 is fading in the dim light SC2 left for me :(

Anyway, back to topic.
I'm not sure if this new Mechwarrior will be awesome unless I see and play the game myself. All I know is I have no interest to check it out now, as I've come to love other games since then. Simply put, a little too late...
But that's just me.

Yea I agree that in all the time they had they could have really added more, thats dissapointing. But maybe, just maybe they have something hidden up their sleaves that has NOT been shown or made public in the beta. Why would they release the TOTAL game in the Beta(MP of course), that so many people copied and played. Obviously the beta isn't the final big deal in various ways. For instance graphical issues, I'm pretty sure the explosions are going to be improved, at least I hope, cause at the moment it looks crap.

Yea it was pretty stupid of them to announce the game so early in development, and after all these years people have lost a hell of a lot of Interest in the game, especcially now that everybody has become aware of what they were waiting for.

But, like I said, hopefully Blizzard has something up their sleaves - I'm pretty sure the SP is going to be really fun and epic. The ONE video I have seen of Raynor talking to Zeratul, and explaining storyline, I loved.

Sadly I don't think there will be more to it than what we saw in the Beta. Beta's are meant for testing purposes, and leaving out stuff that should be tested would be stupid. Only things that could improve (if they decide to do so) would be graphics issues and other game related bugs reported during the Beta phase. So what we saw is close to what we'll get.
The story and the missions in single player will of course be another experience, and I'm sure that will bring back the memories of previous battles in the original SC, and make it more exciting.

I'm also hoping for more, but I'm afraid there won't be much more than what we've seen in the Beta tbh.

Well, maybe some brilliant cinematics will make up for it :P
